We have now taken two boats around the world. The blue line on the map shows our first voyage on Silk, which started with an Atlantic Circle followed by a pretty standard tropical circumnavigation via Cape Hope. The red line shows our current voyage on Hawk, which is a high latitude circumnavigation from Iceland to Cape Horn, including passing under all five Great Southern Capes.
One of the most common questions we are asked is: "Of all the places you have been which is your favorite?"
This is a very difficult question, as we have been to so many wonderful but very different places. However, in our cruising over the past ten years we would pick out Scotland, Chile, Newfoundland, Argentina, and the Queen Charlotte Islands as particularly good spots, with wonderful people, great sailing, and interesting wildlife. You can click on the place names on the map to get additional information on each. There is also information on other interesting places at Other Places, and one man's opinions on the 'Best of Cruising", the best beer, best beach, etc.

Smooth seas do not make skillful sailors.
